This sculpture is made with recycled clay, fired twice at cone10 and glazed with Tenmoku – a glossy black glaze. Parts of the glaze are scraped off along the rim and outer surface of the basket-like bowl on top of the figure. The figure pulls knees to chest, as the toes of one foot curl over the other. The person sits under an open container fixed to the back of head and neck, and that bowl/basket can be filled by others who dictate the weight of the load.
Bowl and figure are oven, microwave, and dishwasher safe, and glaze is safe for food use.
