This one of a kind vase was built by hand through the coiling method. Nkechi designed the vase to be able to be held with adult fingers through the top rings or child fingers through the bottom rings. The rich glossy black glaze is elegant and sensual, and there is a narrow opening at the top of this vase, which would accommodate a single rose or 1-4 stems. It also stands alone as an object without any flowers but holds water and is functional as a vase if desired.
This piece is hand made, dried, fired, glazed, and re-fired at cone10, which is the hottest kiln. The glaze chosen is food-safe, and this vase holds water and may be used in the oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer safely.
