This compelling sculpture is made from recycled clay and depicts a figure pulling the knees into the chest, as if bracing for pain. The curling of the toes also suggests a strained emotional state. Glazed with dark magma, the surface of the figure appears blistered and has a weathered textural quality. The small bits of clay stuck together inside the void of the figure are glazed with a glossy red, also indicating emotions, perhaps of love, pain, grief, or rage.
Sculpture has its own stand and sits upright without any additional support. Not food safe. Climate resilient & oven safe, fired at cone10.
